Owned as an olive farm since 1894, this place has an intriguing history. This operating farm is the oldest business in existence in Ontario. Receive a guided tour to learn about how olives are harvested and the changes that have occurred over the decades. Find out about curing olives, grading them, and canning as you take home a few to enjoy for yourself.
Spend the day shopping at the Ontario Mills shopping center where you can find famous designers like Calvin Klein and Michael Kors. Kids will enjoy Dave & Busters or check out the improv comedy club with friends. This center has over 200 stores and restaurants with 1.5 million square feet of space.
Spend the day in and around the water at this regional park. With 150 acres to explore, the park features two lakes for boating and fishing. Kids will get excited about the waterpark with a fun water slide and a splash park for the younger children. Pack a picnic and make a day of it on these beautiful grounds.
Get your hiking boots on and enjoy a 3.3-mile hike on a moderate trail. The hike will take an average of two hours with mostly even terrain with a few rocky areas. North of the main trail is Etiwanda Falls, which is about a 1-1/2-mile hike from the parking lot with a more adventurous trail.
If you just want to stop and smell the roses for an afternoon, you can do it quite literally by planning a stop at the botanic garden. This garden is dedicated to native plants as you learn about all the fauna throughout the state. Interactive learning makes the trip even more enjoyable as you take a class or get involved in a hands-on activity.
Eat a delicious meal and learn about history at the same time when you visit the Sycamore Inn. Learn about the dirt trail where Captain Juan Batista de Anza went exploring and lived with locals. The dirt trail became a primary path as a small community was built up and an inn was opened. Though much as changed, the inn still welcomes visitors to the area.
