Headlights Service in Ontario, CA

Driving at night is almost impossible without your headlights. Not only do you need them to see the road, but other motorists can see your vehicle by your headlights. When one or both start to fail, it can become dangerous to drive – even just to get back home. If you live around Temecula, Jurupa Valley, or Rancho Cucamonga, you can have our expert technicians perform headlight service for you at Mark Christopher Auto Center.

Maybe you’ve experienced an oncoming motorist flashing their headlights as a means of telling you to turn your lights on, indicating that you have a light out. If you’ve turned on your headlights, the next step is to check and see if they’re working. You can drive up to a building and see if you can see illumination on both sides of the vehicle or if one side is dark. You can also get out and look at the headlights to see if both are illuminated. If you have a bulb or multiple bulbs that are not functioning properly, you can bring your vehicle to the Service Center where we’ll replace the bulb or find out what’s wrong with your headlights.

Diagnosing Headlight Issues

Most headlight problems are related to bulbs burning out. This is usually a simple fix that a new bulb will take care of, but occasionally there are other reasons for headlight trouble like electrical problems and charging issues. Sometimes knowing what’s wrong depends on which lights are having problems and what the specific problem could indicate.

  • If both headlights stop working: If this happens, it is likely a problem with the electrical system.
  • If high beams or low beams stop working: The first step is to rule out burned-out bulbs. If that doesn’t fix the problem, you’ll want to have someone check fuses and relays.
  • If a light stops working: It’s probably a bad bulb, but if that doesn’t work, have fuses and wiring checked.
  • If headlights are dim: If your lights turn on and off as they should but the light is dimmer than usual, the problem might be the charging system. It may be a simple fix like cleaning the lenses. If the bulb is starting to burn out, a new bulb might take care of it. Otherwise, schedule an appointment with Mark Christopher Auto Center to have the problem diagnosed.

If you have headlight issues and it’s difficult to change the bulb yourself, or if the problem isn’t resolved with a new bulb, contact us and set up an appointment with our Service Center or make it yourself online.
